The table tracks all 18 Liga MX clubs through 17 Jornadas of the Apertura season. Points determine the ranking (3 for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss). When teams are tied on points, official Liga MX tie-breakers apply: goal difference first, then goals scored, then head-to-head results where applicable.
Green-highlighted rows show the top 8 — the Liguilla qualification zone. If the regular season ended right now, these teams would advance to the knockout playoffs. Click any club name to jump to that team's full schedule, match history, and team calendar download.
Table columns explained:
- Pos — Current position in the table. 1st through 8th (green) qualify for Liguilla.
- Club — Team name and crest. Click to see that club's full Apertura schedule.
- MP — Matches played. The season has 17 total; most teams have 3 played as of early August.
- W / D / L — Wins, draws, and losses so far this season.
- GF / GA — Goals scored (for) and goals conceded (against).
- GD — Goal difference (GF minus GA). First tie-breaker when teams are level on points.
- PPG — Points per game. Useful for comparing teams that have played a different number of matches (e.g., after postponed fixtures).
- Pts — Total points. The primary ranking metric.
How the Apertura 2026 table works
The Apertura is the first of two Liga MX tournaments in the 2026-2027 season. All 18 clubs play a single round-robin format — each team faces every other team exactly once. That means 17 Jornadas total, with 9 matches per Jornada spread across Friday through Sunday (and occasional Thursday or Monday kickoffs).
The table rewards consistency over 17 matchdays. Three points for a win, one for a draw. Teams that finish 1st through 8th advance to the Liguilla knockout stage. The regular-season champion (1st place) earns the top seed and hosts the return leg in every Liguilla round they play.
Positions can change significantly week to week, especially early in the season. A team in the bottom half after three Jornadas is only a couple of wins away from the qualification zone. The standings page updates within 12 hours of each match going final.
What happens after the regular season?
The top 8 teams advance to the Liguilla — a two-leg knockout tournament that determines the Apertura champion. The 1st seed faces the 8th seed, 2nd faces 7th, and so on. Each round is a home-and-away series with the higher seed hosting the second leg. The winner on aggregate advances. See the Liguilla bracket page for matchups once they're confirmed.
Liga MX Standings FAQ
Who is first in the Liga MX Apertura 2026 table?
América is currently first with 7 points from 3 matches.
Which positions qualify for the Liguilla?
The configured qualification line on this site is positions 1 through 8. Green rows show the clubs currently inside that zone; the final bracket is not official until the regular season ends.
What breaks a tie on points in Liga MX?
The table first compares goal difference, then the next competition criteria. The standings feed determines the displayed order, so this site does not reorder tied clubs independently.
How often does this Liga MX table update?
The site refreshes its schedule and standings data twice daily. It is a planning snapshot rather than a second-by-second live table.
